Energy saving is the biggest advantage of LED lighting, but it’s limited by the cost, material, and heating, all those factors make a discount on energy saving. Energy present lie in the following two aspects:
First, Convert the maximum electrical energy into light energy;
Second, Control the light energy to adapt human senses.
See from the current lighting, there are two issues that not good enough, first is the LED heating issue, here we can analyze which will be affected by heating:
1) The LED packing glue, after thousands hours heating, the glue may be deformed, and finally affect the view angle.
2) The lifespan, more heating will result higher light decay, finally short the lifespan. In addition, heating will also affect the life of aluminum plate board.
3) Because LED lights produce heat, so the need for cooling. Compared to the lightweight plastic, metal thermal conductivity is much better, but also much more heavy and expensive.
Second is light perception issue. Why under high-lumen LED lamp, we still feel the blurred vision? There are two reasons:
1) Our eyes adapt to natural light, and almost all of the LED lighting products are monochromatic. Because of human eyes, whether it is warm or white, monochromatic light is not good to restore the color of the object itself.
2) LED lamp produce high lumens monochromatic light, but it can’t shoot long distance. So we feel that the light is too bright in the short distance and not enough brightness in long distance. In contrast, the effect of warm white color is slightly better.
Use high-power LED light source can reduce the heat production:
When appearance of SMD3528, the status of SMD 5050 began to waver. In the beginning, many people exclude SMD3528 because of less application and hard market. Now more than 70% of indoor lighting products are used SMD3528 light source. It can save cost, but will also bring some technical problems.
Usually, one 1W light source will produce about 3000 joules of heat in one hour; and two 0.5W will produce 3500 Joule heating. Therefore, the 0.5W with lower light efficiency. Use a 5W LED bulb as example, when use 1W light source, it will produce 15K joule heating, but 0.5W will produce 16.5K joule heating.
By inference, in the same power, the SMD3528 will produce more heat than SMD 5050, this mean that under normal circumstances and the same power lamps, high-power light source with higher light efficiency. At the same power, more LED source will result the aluminum plate produce more heating accordingly.
In addition, there are some international companies that are using SMD 5630, but this need the technical ability of manufacturers to gain an advantage.
As we all know, the heating is relative with the LED chip. So for the LED lamp light source, we not only need consider the quality of LED chip, but also need to consider the quantity of LED source. Now in order to cut the cost, many manufacturers are using low-power light source. Of course, compared to low-power light source, the high-power light source is not good at disperse the heating, but the light decay of high-power light source is improving and price is going down gradually, it will have great prospect.
Light perception issue can be solved by mix color or light shade.
About the issue that LED mono color result in low color rendering index, many companies have begun to develop a variety of mix color lighting. Of course, this effect may still result in uneven light phenomenon, which have new requirements on the lens and light shade. Such as high transmittance frosted lens and high translucent white shade.
