Shenzhen will fully phase out incandescent lights in public places this year

Leaned from the latest issue of Shenzhen "Municipal Government Gazette," on 21th Oct 2009 that, Shenzhen Urban Management Bureau issued " Advice about strengthen the comprehensive management of energy-saving lighting in Shenzhen City" (hereinafter referred to as " Advice "), decided at the end of this year, all the incandescent lights on street and public places will be fully phased out, and will be replaced by the LED lighting, high-pressure sodium lamps and other high efficiency lighting products.

In 2007, the lighting that under the management of Shenzhen Municipal are more than 400,000 pcs, yearly used approximately 3 billion kilowatts of electricity, consumption over the whole society by 0.5%. The introduction of "Advice" is to comprehensively promote energy-saving measures on public institutions, improve the energy saving lighting level of the function lighting, landscape lighting and other outdoor public lighting.

"Advice" put forward a series of energy-saving measures, including the replacement of street lamps to be this year. By the end of this year, Shenzhen street and public places will be all phased out incandescent lights, mercury lamps and other inefficient lighting products. According to the road level and on-site conditions, all the lighting will be replaced by the high-pressure sodium lamp, ceramic metal halide lamps, fluorescent lamps, electrodeless lamp, LED lighting and other efficient lighting products.
