The EU will launch a campaign to stop using incandescent light bulbs in September

According to European Voice reported that, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the EU will launch a campaign to stop using incandescent bulbs next week. Is expected that this campaign will save 40 terawatt hours electricity for the EU in a year.
From the September 1, the light bulbs shops will not allow to buy any new 100-watt incandescent bulb, but it can continue to inventory sold out. And the commonly used 40-watt and 25 watt incandescent bulbs will be available until 2012.
The European Commission said that if the stop using incandescent bulbs, even though the improvement of the light bulb cost, a household can save each year 25-50 euros.
A German lighting company spokesman said the phasing out incandescent light bulbs will enable companies to more easily converting. He said that prohibit the use of 100-watt light bulb is easy, because of not energy-saving, this light bulbs is unfashionable. Retailers said they had prepared for this, but worried about energy-saving light bulbs may be out of stock.
